In the UK, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) act as a trade association for travel agents and tour operators. ABTA perform both a commercial and regulatory role, and all their members are required to operate to an agreed codes of conduct.

ABTA bonding protects all of members bookings that contain hotels, tours or vehicle hire but do not include international flights. In the event of an unresolved dispute between you as a passenger and any ABTA member, you can use their arbitration service as an alternative to legal action.

You can verify any members ABTA number on the ABTA website
